It’s Cyber Monday, and you know what that means – scams, scams, and more scams.
As if we didn’t have enough to worry about making sure that we’ve gotten the best deal on all of the random junk that we plan on buying for our loved ones (and even some not-so-loved ones that we feel obligated to buy for, for one reason or another), we also have to worry about getting scammed online. The rise of online shopping has, naturally, coincided with the rise of taking advantage of online shoppers.
Thankfully, McAfee has, most helpfully, put together a list of the ‘Twelve Scams of Christmas‘ which we urge our readers to take a moment to peruse.
All joking about crappy gifts aside, it is important to be aware of the fact that the bad guys pay attention to what’s going on and use that to their advantage. Cyber Monday is a great opportunity for them to exploit people that may be shopping online for the first time, so it’s up to you to be vigilant.
